I think that there´s no way they don´t have archives. If i´m correct they are ordered by dates, so they are easy to find. For example when you see old footage on the news they have to go search somewhere.

If you think about it, how could they possible know about the 3 minute video?

On the other hand, i don´t see any reason for them to be lying. They could easily guive you the right answers and explain to you that they can´t guive it to you.
