Okay, now that I got that out of the way...
Which concert was it where Queen was told they'd be arrested if they went out to do an encore?
Thanks.

Thank you!
Er... why would they be arrested?
because they only had a 60 minute slot and they went to I think 80 minutes, so...yah.

Almost right. They were told to stop playing by a certain time by the police as previously agreed. But they wanted to play on but PC Plod and his mates told them to stop.

The story I believe Brian and Roger tell on the Greatest Video Hits Vol. 1 DVD was that the police were afraid the audience would start rioting if the band kept playing (I believe it's Roger who says "I think they'd be more likely riot if we hadn't"). I guess the band's performance had the crowd in a frenzy. This is all talked about during the Somebody To Love commentary (as the live footage in that video was taken from Somebody To Love).
Interestingly enough, this wasn't the first time some idiot decided to pull the plug on a show because the audience was frenzied. At one of the Newport Jazz fests, in the mid 50's, Duke Ellington basically had the same thing happen to him. There's actually a live album released from this show, where you can hear him arguing just off mic with someone about it. You can hear him say something like "Can we at least finish the show properly" (ie let us do our closing number).

Because Freddie wanted to go back onstage and perform an encore, but the police said that because it was dark they thought the kids would riot and hurt them.

And Freddie didn't fancy being locked up in that VERY tight leotard so didn't argue for long
I'm sure Freddie wouldn't mind men in uniform. ;)
