I´ve compared 3 songs with my version of this concert and i think i have a better version than this.
The songs were "BBTLB", "SSOR" and "SWFIB". The main difference is the Bass and backing vocals. Even though this version has great drum sound it lacks the other instruments and the backing vocals on "SSOR" almost don´t exist.
In my bootleg " A Very Special Christmas" by Godfather Records the sound is leveld and i think it sounds better than this.
But i will upload those three songs so you can compare too (as soon as Rapidshare allows). Then, if you want i can upload the full concert.

These are two completely different mixes. The drum sound is totally different on the two versions. Also, compare the echoes on the vocals in NIH. There are definitely more echoes on the Swedish radio version, and they are so clear. But yes, the backing vocals are mixed slightly lower on it. Therefore it's easy to conclude it's a completely different mix.
The Godfather Records source is the same source that's been out there for years. On SSOR, it sounds like it's two or three gens away from the master, as the overall clarity isn't as good as the new Swedish radio version. In the end, I still prefer this new version, because of that incredible drum sound. You can EQ its bass a bit to make it sound fuller in the bottom end.

Hi folks! I just thought I'd add a couple of comments regarding this CD. I'm the one who put it together and perhaps I can clear a few things up:
The "strange noises" heard on 'Ogre Battle' (and somewhere else on the CD) was added by Swedish Radio. I could cut out most of the DJ talk and jingles without affecting the music, but I couldn't remove the one in 'Ogre Battle' without getting a distracting edit.
I have another source for this track from the Westwood One radio CD's and it doesn't have the noise, but it's a completely different mix, as you've discussed above. The Westwood One mix is very good, but I prefer the one broadcast by Swedish Radio. Here are some noticeable differences between the Swedish radio broadcast (SR) vs. the Westwood One/BBC recording (WO/BBC):
* The drums on SR has a greater stereo width, which I prefer.
* The guitar has been mixed with some slight delay on SR, which gives it a better impact and, IMO, better "live sound".
* The entire SR mix is much more wide, which I also prefer.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the show!
PS. I could upload a couple of tracks without the "noises", but in the inferior Westwood One mix so you can choose (and burn) the ones you like best.

It's interesting to hear the 2 different versions. I notice on March of the Black Queen on the Westwood version Freddie starts to sing too early, this does not happen on the Swedish Radio version, I guess the sound engineers were able to edit this out?
I don't know who holds the master tapes of this performance - Queen or the BBC, but it's a pity they don't produce a CD, or better still SACD / DVDA for max quality.
