Exactly, and the kids are more interested in that side of it anyway. My six-year-old sister watches these cartoons every day, and I don't think she's going to start smoking anytime soon.
These people will always come up with something. What was it about Harry Potter books being banned in schools because it could encourage kids to practise witchcraft?

Lol, why, is witchcraft bad? I do it all the time. Even when I'm asleep.
Brian would be celebrating. We all know it, too.

TRUE!!!!! :D
TRUE!!!!! :D
I don't smoke, but this anti-smoking witchhunt is getting out of hand. I'll bet you that an absolute majority of the anti-smoking lobby consists of boozers, people who eat more than some small nations, child-porn fans and other major vices. In other words: they themselves aren't as clean as they wish to make out. A bit like the McCarthy-crew, actually.
I somewhat agree with having smoking banned from cartoons. For the naive mind of a little child, it might indeed seem as a bad influence for which the kid will get the idea that smoking is OK.
However, I would only consider a ban on smoking cartoon characters during times when kids are most likely to be watching.
Since Boomerang shows cartoons 24/7, perhaps I might say that after 9 p.m. they could show classic cartoons completely uncut, including 'Fritz The Cat', and that other cartoon where Donald Duck is getting a blow job.
