Love Kills - Live?

On the Freddie Solo Collection "Box Set", Disc 9, there's a track called "Love Kills (Rock Mix)". It sounds, to me, like a cleverly mastered studio remix with some live effects. I maintain, to my knowledge, there was not a Freddie solo "Concert" (shy of a few one off performances with Caballe and the final for "time") a documented Freddie Mercury SOLO "Concert". I've been debating with someone lately whether this is a live track, performed live, or a studio remix. I say remix...they say "live track" and they're basing their notion on a statement they found on amazon.com :

"Love Kills" is actually the first solo single of Freddie's, picking up on the Metropolis revival started by "Radio Ga Ga". The rock mix may have be what it sounded like when Queen did it at Rock 'n' Rio (Freddie's then-boyfriend Jim Hutton said in his tell-all that it was performed there)."

DID Queen perform this at rock in rio? and if so, IS that based on the performance, or is it all garbage like I'm betting?

Remix. "...with some live effects". It wasn't performed live by Queen. It wasn't performed live by Freddie.

Which probably reads 'Love Kills first demo'd at the Isle of White festival in front of a capacity crowd, later re-recorded by Freddie and Jon Bon Jovi, and mixed by Mack'

I think the FM solo collection talks about Love Kills originally being a Queen track from the Works sessions - and that the finished version still features the drumcomputer and guitar work by Roger/Brian.

FM box tells about Fugitive brothers, additional guitar played by Johnnie Bivouac (or something like that) and about 1992 year...

A significantly alternative slant on the familiar version, yet strangely appealing, this Rock Mix of Freddie and Giorgio Moroder's 1984 single, is one of those remixes that sounds better with each new listen.

Why ask us to prove it?

Just ask whoever claims there's a live performance of it from Rio to give you a copy...

I don't need the proof, buy my silent little friend who insists on it does...and he's reading this, I'm sure. Thanks for all the acknowledgement, even taught me a few thigns I didn't know.

At least this remix is a decent one.

I was at both Rock In Rio concerts - NO Love Kills live (neither there or anywhere else).

It's the best mix so far....

Sounds live, but it ain't.

I'm not a big fan of the mix. Nice idea, but don't like the guitar.
