We all know about Mary Austin and Jim Hutton, but does anyone know or heard of a German actress called Barbara Valentine? I believe that's what her name is. She was with Freddie for awhile I think until 1985. They met sometime in the eighties. They met in Munic I believe. Anyone heard of her?

Nope. No-one. Never. Neither Freddie even.

...I'm afraid there were about dozen of dozens of "another persons" in Freddie life besides Mary and Jim.

Topic closed, end of story.
I read it in a freddie biography and just was curious to know about her. Please don't be so rude sarie.

She's an German actress. She filmed in "It's A Hard Life" video. She told a lot of private things about Freddie during last 20 years. She's dead.
was it an affair or a friendship? i've read both online, but i thought the affair might be wishful thinking on the part of fans...
Thanks Sarie. And From what I read in the biography I read, it was a love affair, but books can say anything.

that's true. even if it was a love affair, it was probably a brief one.
Yes. It was brief from what I read, but they were still good friends afterwords.

Barbara Valentin was a German actress best known for her 'exotic' roles. She was a long-term freind of Freddie. According to her daughter and one of her close friends - it was a close and physical relationship which happened in the early 80's - I think the reference is from a TV show called Freddie's Loves - Ms Valentin's daughter took part herself
Thanks for the info. Wonder where I can find that show? That would be interesting to see.

She was famous for her roles in Rainer Werner Fassbinders Films, who was a famous director of "arty" movies in the "new german movie"-scene. Fassbinder was like the Bertold Brecht of his time (the 70's) and his movies are considered some of the best work of that time.
Sadly, after Fassbinder died, she became infamous for roles in B-movies, soft-erotic and cheap comedys.
Freddie met her in Munich and they even shared a flat there. After Freddie's death she talked about him in germany's tabloid press. Not meant to be rude, but a story of their friendship (and I really believe she had no bad intentions), german press blew it up the usual way the tabloids do.
She died of cancer about 2 years ago.
Guten Tag und Guten Abend !!! We had a great time in Cologne. Drinking beer in the sunshine beside the Mighty Rhein brought back many memories for me..... (Brian May, 2004)
it is kind of hard to beleive that freddie would even consider having a heterosexual relationship by that point. i don't think i'm buying it.
BV is also thanked in the "Mr Bad Guy" sleeve notes for "big tits" !!!

I aint gonna lie I am somewhat confused over the whole B.Valentine thing...I mean if he was gay and was with Jim, why was he even dating her, for the press?

Heres a pic of Freddie and Ms. Valentine:
