Yes, absolutely. Anything done with elaboration and work is better than that.
It's just a pretty easy jam, anybody who can actually play an instrument could do something like that... you just need the backing rhythm section, and that's pretty much it.

Are u serious?, well when you recorded somethin like "A love supreme", "Ascension", "Interstellar Space" give me a call, you can't go wrong with Mr Coltrane, he's not May for sure, so he's far away form him

Finally! Someone who also appreciates 'Ascension'! Thank heavens they are still around! I take it you enjoy Kulu Se Mama, Meditations (The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost most especially) and Sun Ship as well?

Had you not made it painfully obvious by means of your post that you know absolutely NOTHING about music, I would have had to attack you most fiercely about this. However, that is not the case, as you yourself deserve all the credit for tackling your post.

As i said before, i love rock and roll, but i mean, when we're talkin bout this kind of musicians, we're talkin bout genius, i'll check that songs thomas, thnks, i love coltrane, mr freddie hubbard's red clay.
Miles Davis, anothr god, i love his electric era, since It's about that time until Agharta, he as someone said in the past "create the best rock band ever" only check Live-Evil

Personally, I'm not too wild about Davis' fusion period. After "Bitches Brew" it all went downhill, and in the '80s his trumpet-playing had degenerated from breathtaking and perfectly in tune to rather pathetic and ill-articulated.
I'm a really big fan of Eric Dolphy myself, maybe you should give him a shot:

C'mon Caspar... are you going to insult everyone who considers that there's something better musically than John Coltrane?
My utter most respect to John Coltrane for being such a brilliant musician and an undeniable influence not only on Jazz, but all the genres that derived from it.
However, there are things I enjoy more than that. Am I going to be insulted for that?

It's like this - one may or may not like this kind of music. But one *cannot* discount the inherent musicality of it, the skill involved. I think Bela Fleck and his band play pretty chincy music, but the actual skill of the players.... FUCK ME FLAT, those guys are talented.
Seriously, there are worlds of music that mightn't to your liking, peoples, but you have to learn when to at least appreciate the skills involved in creating it.

The same could be said about several guitar shredders out there, but it doesn't take any more than half a second for most people to dismiss them as "boring" or even "untalented." It's all about personal preference, really.
