What if Freddie used condoms...
If Brian died in 1974 we would have Paul Kossoff/Mick Ralphs as Queen's guitarist and Freddie would say in interviews: "Paul/Mick was always hero for us! Especially for Bri. He told me so!"
Are u kidding? Of course Queen wouldn't have been the same.
Rick has a point. A frightening point :o(
my friend thinks that brian and roger should seek out the reincarnation of freddie.

Here is a good one, Say.. what if RetroLove had died last week in a HORRIBLE car accident.. would we still have this morbid topic or would it have been replaced by "What brand of Ciggies did Freddie smoke"..

What a stupid question, no offense. Of course they wouldn't be anything like the Queen we know. It's not just losing a vocalist and significant song writer, as well as a creative and skilled guitar legend... It's the Red Special! For me, no other element, including all of Freddie's talents, defines Queen's greatness to me as the lovely different sounds created only by that magnificent guitar. If forced to choose between keeping Brian, but losing his guitar, or losing Brian, but a replacement inheriting his guitar, I'd keep the guitar. That is no knock at all on Brian. That fireplace based combination of junk, combined with a Treble Booster, AC 30 and sometimes the Deacy Amp, is the greatest creation in human history in the category of audio.
she didn't mean it disrespectfully. the implication is "thank god he DIDN'T die," not "wouldn't it be neat if..."
I'm telling you, Brian did die in 1974, and was replaced by a lookalike! Same thing happened to Rog in 1976!
I can not even think about that.... I just can't. The rock industry wouldn't be the same without his guitar sound. His style. Queen wouldn't feel right.
Some people wouldn't mind if they carried on without Brian. But they tend to mind when it comes to "replacing" Freddie recently.

Now guys, be nice!! RetroLove just wanted to know the answer to his/her question, not get picked on.
Ok, if Brian had passed away from his illness, it definately wouldn't have been the same. that goes for each and every member. I don't think Queen would've lasted. it's scary just thinking about it.

Queen would be missing part of its charm. It's just be..... blah. :p
