Okay. Here are my thoughts on this. I'm very sorry about your friend being rude about Queen, Bri or Freddie! She's being judgemental! It's sad how anyone dies, no matter the cercomstances. It's very sad, and I'm sorry for that. And Freddie is one of the best singers ever! And how dare she call him Fred the fuck or whatever! How rude!
You guys are only 13, the reason for the immature squabbles.
As Freddie would say "Just Fuck them darling, and get on with it". :P

The best way to deal with a pest is to ignore them.

All the kids in my class do that to me including my best friends. It does upset me ,but what can I do, they don't like it and I can't make them like it. I don't like everything that my friends like and am entitled to my opinion, just as they are. I just don't mention much about Queen(even though its all I want to talk about) and they don't bring it up. So now I don't have to get angry over things that can be avoided. I do bring it up sometimes, but less often. I'd just rather not hear slander about the greatest musicians of all time.

I don't think you should let that bother you. Once those immature, ignorant twirps grow up to be civilized adults they might see you as an adult (if they'll recognize you), look back, and think, "I can't believe I made fun of her for liking Queen." Then, maybe they'll apologize to you. Those kids are just not comfortable with the fact that you're interested in Queen (no offense). The best thing to do is to not bring up Freddie Mercury or Queen around them anymore and maybe they'll stop taunting you. But don't stop being a proud Queen fan because that's what being a fan is about (correct me if I'm mistaken) I understand this advice I gave you may not work, but give it a try.

Me: *points to the back cover of my book* that awesomely awesome guy.
Snape: He looks ugly!
Me: you can talk
Snape: He isn't one of those dead Queen faggots is he?
Me: *PUNCH*
Mr. May: (my music teacher yesterday, normally my english teacher) Will! Come With Me To The Deputy!
Snape: *lying bleeding on the ground*

as far as rudeness goes usually I get HEAPS of it! you learn to channel it out after a while... but I was pleasantly suprised at how my friends took it today!

It sounds so stupid but that little thing made me feel so much better today.. purely coz Im used to the horrible commments...
anyway dont worry about your friend! we all know how great he was! and you can always talk to us about him and we will never ever take the piss out of your opinions! you can be sure of that!
