I took a bunch of Queen CD's to work to listen to today. Because the one lady who works in the kitchen who doesn't like loud music was off today, I was able to crank it before we opened for lunch, and after we closed.

At 2:00pm I switched on the local classic rock station, because they always play four songs in a row with a connected theme. I had a hunch that Freddie's birthday would be remembered, and it was!

Here's what they played

Somebody To Love
Liar (!!!)
Fat Bottomed Girls
The Prophet Song (!!!!!!!!!!)

So, Fat Bottomed Girls was kind of a cop out, but they played LIAR! AND The PROPHET SONG!!! ON COMMERCIAL RADIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought for sure they were just gonna play the usual suspects (ie Bohemian Rhapsody, Killer Queen, We Are The Champions and maybe Somebody To Love or We Will Rock You or something like that). I'm pleased to see they mixed it up a bit! :-)

Oh and, Happy Birthday Freddie! I still miss you!

Oh and one other thing:

One of the albums I took to work was A Day At The Races. In Teo Torriate, when Freddie sang "When I'm gone", I started crying. I kept working, but I definitely had tears in my eyes.

Happy Birthday!!!)))
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR FREDDIE!

It's as if you never died, everyday you sing better.
Freddie es como Carlos Gardel: cada dia canta mejor.
In honor of FM's 60th birthday, baseball stadiums across America will be playing We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions on their PA systems through out September, and some will even play it into October! ;)
Happy birthday, Freddie. You ALWAYS make my day brighter. I finally made it to the store (on the 5th) to buy a picture frame for your Wembley photo poster I bought months ago. See you on my wall, Freddie, EVERY DAY!
Yes, it was a worthwhile experience.
