I don't think Freddie was dead :D
Sometimes I believe in "A kind of magic" and there are some reasons to tell you that Freddie wasn't dead (no picture from his death bed; where is his ash? Mary won't tell!). Do you think he is playing dead?

People who want to see pictures of Freddie's ash or just dead Freddie - need in help...

I think it's just wishful thinking. I sometimes think that maybe there's a chance he's still alive. But I know that doesn't make any sense. I know he isn't alive but I can't help think of the possibility that he is alive. I really want to believe that he is still alive but I don't.

We aren't 100% sure that Jim Morrison is dead, so it sparked some doubt in my mind about Freddie. Not real doubt but, "Hmmm... Imagine if..." doubt.

Sure, we'd all like to believe that Freddie is alive, I personally hope for it myself. I don't really think it's likely, though. Anyway, if Freddie did pop up, claiming to be Freddie Mercury, I doubt people would believe him.
