Hammer To Fall in Live Aid - Question.

A question I want to share with you all. So share your answers.

In the Live Aid performance, during Hammer To Fall, there is a voice which is heard more than the others and it's quite off-key. The bit is:

"Rich or poor or famous,
For your truth it's all the same"

HERE IT IS: Oh no oh no!"

In the "Oh noooo", someone sings it longer and off-key. Not a Brian nor Roger recognizable voice. Could it be John?

I don't remember if the DVD version of Live Aid was mixed/overdubbed differently here, but in the TV version, that off-key vocal can be easily heard.

What do you think?

One of the rare occasions that John's mic was on was at Live Aid.

I too have heard this atonal nitwit assaulting the airwaves. But it doesn't really sound like John Deacon. Damn if only the camera had been pointing at him at the time. I guess. Not.
I havent heard this in years but it may just be either Brian or Roger that went off key. Roger said recently that the sound on stage was awful and as such this might have been a contributing factor. I could be wrong though...
"Normally i can't dance to save my life. But as soon as I step in dog shit, I can moonwalk better than Michael Jackson."
Any chance it might have been Linda McCartney?

Its Spike, you can hear him on various works tour stuff. Awful.
I love you for your mind baby give me your body.
Ofcourse it's Spike

And why do we have this discussion every month or so.

Because, FriedChicken, some people do have a life outside QZ, and sometimes miss some topics.

I come here quite often and never came across this particular subject.

Nevertheless it was asked politely, so you could just ignore it, instaed of losing 1 minute to complain. Does this offend you so much?

Spike's voice isn't bad, but it's definitely not appropriate for a Queen concert imo. (Of course, I'm speaking about Queen, not about Brian, Roger + Paul Rodgers)
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

That's right, it's called MySpace.com or MSN...
Sebastian...you again...Brian and Roger are QUEEN!!
I think Spikes voice fits better in Queen than in Queen & Paul Rodgers.

cause the harmonies sucked on stage back then.. very much!
