that's the thing, it only works if both people are willing to make the effort. i'm still close friends with a girl i met when we were 5, and we haven't seen each other in four years...so it's definitely possible. yes, sometimes people just grow apart...but i think this guy was right when he said that freddie had moved on, emotionally. and from his interviews, you can tell that he wanted to just leave everything about his childhood in the past. including friends.
Buckwheat... lovely nickname. :P I understand the Buck portion, but why Wheat? What IS Buckwheat? xD
Anyways, great story!

Thats 100% true. Freddie just didnt want it. I can see his point in some ways, but its still sad.

Maybe that's why they later called him Bucky. We all thought it was because of his teeth, maybe it was just short for Buckwheat. Though, the 'why' of Buckwheat remains unanswered...
[QUOTENAME] My Pretty Dictionary Sez :[/QUOTENAME]1 : any of a genus (Fagopyrum of the family Polygonaceae, the buckwheat family) of Eurasian herbs with alternate leaves, clusters of apetalous pinkish-white flowers, and triangular seeds; especially : either of two plants (F. esculentum and F. tartaricum) cultivated for their edible seeds
2 : the seed of a buckwheat used as a cereal grain.
If there's some other meaning, I don't know. I mean, this dictionary is pretty spiffy, but it doesn't know everything.

Also, no one fucked up before 1945. That's just not the way they did things.
[QUOTENAME]From Wikipedia :[/QUOTENAME] However, the interview was actually with a man named Bill English, [==>]who had made a career of claiming to be the adult Buckwheat.
What ? How do you do that ?

I'm really Freddie Mercury. Pay me money.
if you said, "i'm freddie mercury's lovechild," someone out there would believe you. sadly.
and give you money.
