2 years ago I saw him as a great rock singer, easily the best thing about 'Bad Company', a better than average '70's rock band.
Now he is the man who brought Queen back together. If I had a 'Man of the Year' award, he would have won for 2005.
Paul rules!! Not only has he brought Queen back, but he has elected to reinvent each Queen cover his own way, which has turned out to make Queen's live material fresh and new in a way that stands on it's own. He is cerainly no Freddie, but I would rather hear Paul's Queen music for certain, rather than a Freddie imitation, even if George Michael, who sounds as much like Freddie as anyone can, was the singer in question. Paul Rodgers has created a new style in which Queen music is sang.
I love the guy!!!!

Here we go again, all of this critism about Paul, I like what he has done with some of the Queen set list and I wish them all of the best for future adventures. He has my backing
I don't know him that much: can't tell if he's a nice fella or then contrary. But, he's for sure a good singer and I thank him for helping Brian and Roger to give a little blow of life to Queen again. Please, stop trashing him sayin' "He'll never do better than Freddie", I don't think that's what he intends : maybe you should understand that Brian and Roger were part of Queen and wanted to bring memories back, feel musicians again, and that they needed a singer because Freddie was unfortunately no there. I found him very brave to do this, he must have expected those harsh and stupid critics (like the "never replace Freddie one")
He could stand to say 'hit me with your heart and with your soul' a little less often. Otherwise, sounds like a nice guy.
When Brian and Roger announced that they would be touring with Paul Rodgers, my first reaction was "who?". However, I was over the moon that I finally got a chance to see Queen in action, even when it was with half the original band and a different singer. Freddie Mercury died before I was old enough to see them in concert, so this was as close I was ever going to get.
Like I said, I had never heard of Paul Rodgers, so I downloaded some material by Free and Bad Company, some hits which I did know and Seagull, which I loved!
I got to see Paul Rodgers in action live during the Antwerp gig, which was simply stunning. I really liked the man instantly, all smiles, a good performer and a great, great singer. I feel in love with the man (figure of speach) and when I got home I got the "greatest hits" album by Free and the "Bad Company" album, which are now among my favorite albums.
Paul Rodgers is not Freddie Mercury, but he does not pretend to be, nor has anyone said that he is. Paul Rodgers is a great artist in his own right and I am glad that he inspired Brian and Roger to tour again. Here's hoping for an album with new music!

Freddie Mercury, probably
I can't hate the man nor do I want to.
If an album is released soon, it should be called,
Queen with guest vocalist, Paul Rogers.
The Beatles without Lennon?
Enough said.

Paul is okay, but I personally hate him because no one other than Freddie (or Roger, or Brian) has the right to sing Queen songs.
I like his voice and I like his music. I don't hang out with him so what else is there to be concerned about?
i'm sad that they choose him as lead singer as he is more country rock singer, but aslong they keep touring and brian and roger sing too i am happy. i will start hating him if anyone tells that he sings any queen song better than freddie, because that is a lie. but nope don't hate him some songs are ok with him on vocals but rather would have had george michael or JJS.
I don't hate him, yet, I should be grateful to him because if there wasn't him there wouldn't be new tour, but I don't like his style and voice when it's about singing Queen songs. I still think they should do an audition for the singer...
Great initiative, this topic!
