To all those who use MSN messenger

If you get something that says

OMG ITS U with a link, Don't open the link becuase if you do it gives you a virus and sends the link to other MSN contacts. I clicked on it now my computer keeps coming up with adverts and stuff so I thought I'd warn as many peeps as poss.

Technically, it's not a virus. It's malware, and to be specific, ad-ware. It's not harmful, only very annoying.

Ok thanks. It is very annoying, do you know if it goes away?

It is harmful, specially if you consider that one of the ads could pop up while you're doing something that demands a lot from your CPU.

Oh god, he has to pretend to be knowledgeable once more. For your information, my sad little individual, processors are constructed in such a way that a set of user-apps alone can never demand full processor-power. A 'buffer', if you will, is always present. There is no way an add can ruin anything more than your MOOD, let alone send your processor up in flames.

I'm not talking about setting your processor on fire, I'm talking about your computer crashing and you losing your work.
