i'm so happy i did. my fave album was Queen, and everybody kept telling me "oh really? then you'll love Queen II!" so i squeezed some money and bought it. i had a fight with myself between buying Queen II or Sheer Heart Attack, but this ONE copy of Queen II had been sitting there since May (i know becuase it had a crack in the disk tray) so i felt that it'd never find a home unless i bought it. I absolutely adore "White Queen (As It Began)", along with the other songs, of course. I'm sorry, but i happen to find "See What A Fool I've Been" very annoying...

I'm very happy with it. Though, the remix for "Seven Seas Of Rhye" was really...well...i just dont see why they used the opening "Ibrahim" from Mustapha and the "ready Freddie" from Crazy Little Thing Called Love...and then the constant beat... *shrug* it was okay, but it seemed very...weak? But the Ogre Battle remix i liked okay.

But this album seemed very odd. But I love it. Wonderful use of thirteen dollars in my opinion.
There's no use talking about the remixes because these are really odd ones and, probably, you won't find them on any other edition than the Hollywood Records one. Personally I find Queen II a bit over the top, I don't listen to it very often, but it is a must have for a Queen fan. PS. Sheer Heart Attack is great, buy it!

just sheer (no pun) curiousity, didn't Freddie write "Bring Back That Leroy Brown"?

yes

The great thing is, you don't have to listen to the remixes if you don't want to. Just about any CD player is programmable :)

So I hate to see people put down the Hollywood versions just because there are some tasteless remixes. The masters themselves sound quite nice and the two that had errors (SHA and NOTW) were done by Queen's own prefered masterer Kevin Metcalfe for one thing, (same idiot who failed to catch the FBG intro error on multiple releases including 'Rocks') plus Hollywood quickly corrected them.

yeah, all the albums i'm buying only have the remixes on them. I cant get them any other way. I had to buy ANATO with the 30th anniversary dvd to escape from those remixes. I HATE the remixes on Jass and NOTW. And with Queen, there was almost NO differnce in Liar, but, i LOVED the long lost re-take of Keep Yourself Alive.

and then the cd inserts are fold outs, which, i dont know why, annoys me.
Yes, those foldouts were a very bad choice, I have to agree there.. except for At the BBC. That one folds out into a big poster of the cover pic, which I think is cool.

Some of the later releases like A Kind of Magic, Live Magic, The Miracle and beyond are proper booklets.

queen II is a great album, the songs sound really good live too. i think sheer heart atack will always be my favorite though : )
i never really liked the remixes either. it would be nice if the CD's included rare out- takes instead.
along with a night at the opera its my favourite Queen album.
Go, Go, Go, little queenie!!
Queen II is my fave.
We love you Mandy!
Queen II contained everything Queen were trying to acheive in the early days. Heavy rock with melody. Multi-layered harmonies and guitar.

I would say this and NATO are the true masterpieces - the jewels in the crown !
you can't go wrong with the first 5 or 6 queen albums. My fav is queen2, then ANATO. ADATR is also underated and brilliant. It's hard to decide, sha just might be their best. Queen1 rocks. Buy them all!
I'm sorry to say this, but I wasnt too crazy about Queen II, it was okay, but I like Sheer Heart Attack much better, cause its just more laid back to me, but Queen II is hella deep!!It one of those CD's that you've really got to sit back and listen to...I like Father to Son, Fairy Fellers Master stroke, and of course, Seven Seas of Rhye
Loving the pass, cherishing the present, and looking forward to the future
Hello!

Well, congratulations for now you can enjoy such amazing record!!!!

I absolutely adore my QUEEN II vinyl LP (you see in the past there were no CD'S ,and therefore no such remixes either).

I think this vinyl records reflect the original musical concept of the groups at that time ...It is not that I am stucked in the past, it is just thst I love that sound...and well I think QUEEN II is a unique masterpiece.

"Anyway QUEEN rocks..."

Take care,
