If you choose to be ignorant and not bother to care about quality preservation, then that's your choice. But we're distributing shows in whatever file format, the absolute least you can do is listen to people who actually know what the correct dates of the recordings are.

And about that mp3/FLAC issue: It reminds me of a comparison between a Porsche and a Minivan: Sure the Porsche performs better, but it's a bitch in everyday transport.
