Let's Get Drunk

Seeing some Cross concerts in the 'announce section' reminded me of that old live favourite: 'Let's Get Drunk'.

As far as I know - this was an original Taylor composition. Therefore, can anyone say for sure this exists as a either a studio or demo version?

I suspect it does - but I have no evidence to support this hunch. Any confirmation?

Basing this completely on speculation alone, I would say that 'Let's Get Drunk' was a jam that probably originated from Roger and was worked up during rehearsals for the tour. I would say it wasn't recorded and that it was written specifically for the live setting, but I have no proof to confirm or deny that other than the fact that it seems that everything that Roger recorded for Shove It made it onto the album or a single release, and that if the song wasn't deemed good enough for the album, why was it performed live?

It's definitely a head-scratcher, and I wish I could contribute more than that.

I have a bootleg of the '88 Town & Country Club Gig, and I assumed that it NOT an RT composition as he doesn't sing it (I think Clayton Moss does?) - I could well be wrong though, but it is indeed one of those songs we need to find some more info about....

Clayton certainly sang it - remember the tour well

To add even more ambiguity... it's a popular phrase, and I believe there may be an ooooold country song about it, but there is also a (shudder) Toby Keith song that recently made use of the phrase.
