It's too complicated. Queen were a band who couldn't really manage to do their harmonies live in the 80's. The 70's were good, especially their early years, if you talk about vocals.

This song requirs full vocal power and only three singers isn't enough. Also musically it would not work. It has so many different parts. Do you really think Brian could do that solo live?

Agreed. Considering Queen's live musical philosophies at the time (i.e. focus on Freddie as the visual focal point, and play mostly the hits that aren't too hard to play), they probably didn't even consider it.

Uh, YES! Brians a great guitarist, why couldnt he do it live? Its fast an complicated, but erm, the guy has been playing since he was what, 7 years old? I think he was good for it...

Agreed again, but had they toured America, it would have been interesting to see whether they would have played Princes...as it was a single there.

But I'd agree that Princes of the Universe would've been on the whole a bit much for the bad. I reckon they could've maybe done it once :P I don't see Freddie nailing the song *every night* on a tour that long.

I was surprised and disapponited when they didn't play it in 1986 and I'm still complaining about it!

The final straw came when the last single from A Kind of Magic was announced - Who Wants to Live Forever! So that was it for Princes.

The sad attempts to revive it when Hits 3 came out made me think they finally realised they'd made a mistake way back in '86...
