Cowdray Ruins 93

Judging by the list of artists, it was a fantastic festival.

My point is, this is something seldom seen debated here on QZ. I mean, for once in a lifetime, just the "Sonic Vulcano" sharing a stage, billed as Queen?? Come on! That is something worth debating!
I've seen some info on queenconcerts, regards to Mr. Scully, but does anybody know:

- Under what circunstances both of them were invited (i am guessing Brian was busy with his own solo stuff);

- Who was the musicians that played with them?

- Did Roger and/or John played in other artists's sets? I mean, this is the set from queenconcerts. Did both of them played in all songs? Apart from Bites the Dust (paul young???), did Roger sang all the other Queen songs?

Yes, Roger sang all the other Queen songs and he played on at least some of the other artists sets.
(Cannot remember by heart which ones exactly...)

I was there (you had to dress up in a Dinner Jacket to stand in a field!)
Issue 9 of POTU had a full review from the event.
Roger was on drums for Genesis and Eric Clapton and all artists finale(note Josh Macrae played drums during the Queen set)

How about John? Did he played in other artist's set?

Are there any photos of the event?

Who played lead guitar to the Queen tracks? Spike played the keys?

(Boy did they do AKOM fast tempo!)

Adrian Lee was on keyboards and Jason Falloon (it rhymes with Balloon) on guitar.
I have no photos and there is no link to the review (it was in an independent fanzine before the days of mass internet saturation) Do have a few old copies in a cupboard somewhere though. I do believe there was a photo from the gig of John in a fan club magazine and I know of at least 1 fan who had a camera there so somewhere yes there are photos. John sported a cap covering a long (grey) hairstyle. Unlike Roger John did not feature in anyone else's sets (or even the grand finale). Hope this helps

Anyway; yes there has indeed been one picture of John in a fanclub mag in those days.
It was a backstage shot though, showing John with grey/white LOOONG hair (!!).
Quote that went with the pic: "I thought I'd better grow it before I lost it"... ;-)

I was lucky enough to score a backstage pass for this event - if I remember correctly, Frank Palstra got my setlist from this event.
If anyone is interested, I still have a few official programs left somewhere here.
There were people in the audience with videocameras for sure, but I do not know whether any material any surfaced.

I just googled it, and it seems that Pink Floyd and Genesis fans took this festival more serious, so it´s possible that some Pink Floyd fans might own a good version of this concert (video???).

I have a gold Marantz cd (where the data side is green) from this concert, called 'Cowdray Ruins Concert 1993'. This was created in a very very limited run (less than 10), since back then, hardly anyone had a cd burner. Empty discs themselves cost almost 20 Euros... Maybe large run copies have been later from this disc. I dunno.
