No dumbass. They aren't baseless assumptions. It's common sense. Logic. Reasoning. If there were a famous personality I really hated, I'd probably still leap to their defense if they had no prior history of any of this bullshit.
We all fucking know Paul McCartney loves himself and has a bit of a temper. But the shit that this silly bitch is claiming is just off the planet. It's nonsense. Fiction. She would have to have killer evidence to the contrary to change my mind on this. How is anyone supposed to believe a word she says when everything else she ever says is total nonsense?
"Crawling to the toilet?" PLEASE. I never saw Douglas Bader crawling to the toilet.
There is no logic. The only way to dismiss these claims with logic is to prove that they are impossible. I think that, despite the fact that it is more likely than not that the claims are false, these claims are still very far from being impossible.
It is an assumption based on belief rather than logic that if wealthy person A is accused by spouse/person B of something that may result in divorce/lawsuit, then B's intentions are purely financial, and s/he is lying.
If Paul McCartney has an undiagnosed brain tumour the size of a baseball that is affecting his behaviour, then maybe some of this shit would make sense.
All prior accounts of this guys temper just make him sound like a reeeal asshole at times... sure as hell not an overly violent, keep-my-wife-in-the-cellar kind of maniac thats being portrayed. Unless there's been some kind of paradigm shift behind closed doors, one cannot reconcile these claims with 45 years of observations by thousands of people. We all know he can be a jerk (gotta love that book "The Love You Make" or whatever it is) but... This crap is bumpkis. I don't believe it anymore than I believed Pete Townshend was into kiddy porn - and the truth came out in good time that he wasn't.
I mean shits sake, I'm not saying any of this because I'm fond of him. I've never liked Paul McCartney! It just sounds like bullshit. It's not the first time she's lied, and it won't be the last. She's some kind of compulsive liar, and who knows - maybe she'll get the needed treatment when this shit is over.
Y'all can report back here and say I TOLD YOU SO if he's ever proven guilty, but for now I have to say it - Heather Mills is talking out of her busted arse again.

I really haven't read up on these stories, but from what I have heard, it sounds like neither party is heart broken - so at least that's good.

no fucking way Paul FUCKING McCaartney would do bullshit like that, he's always such a sweetheart!!
I really hope it comes out that Heather Mills leaked the papares (which I bet she did) and that they werent true, and she gets NOTHING.

I bet there are people out there who refuse to believe that John Lennon beat girls.

I understand where you're coming from and i'm not saying that because Paul was in the Beatles and the Beatles were great so he's great so he is definatly innocent, i just think that Heather is lying..
..because think about it once she realised how much she could get out of this divorce she musta been over the moon..cmon she could walk out of it with a LOT of money (which i think is totally bang outa order since she didn't EARN it)
..and knowing that she might've intentionally leaked these allegations to the papers (i wouldn't put it past her)
but hey she COULD be the innocent party in this, but from where i'm standing she seriously doesn't look it..

Oooo! Ouch!!
Seriously - not one of us knows what went on between those two. Her story is bizarre to say the least - the dragging herself bit, for instance, is beyond belief. But there might be some truth mixed in there.
An abused woman - not saying she was one, BUT - doesn't run out at the first hint of trouble, as someone suggested in this thread. An abused woman stays for various reasons. Terror. No self-esteem. The belief she deserves the punishment. Embarrassment. Fear of not being believed.
When a woman finally makes the break from an abusive relationship, she usually has a litany of events that added to her mental and emotional abuse - not only her physical abuse. Individually, they might not sound legitimate to everyone else, but living through all the events adds weight to each.
Meaning, while Mills' comments sound far-fetched to most of us, if abuse was involved (giant IF), every tiny thing done to her was etched in her mind the same as a punch is etched in a gut. Abuse isn't just physical. It's manipulative. It's complete and it's swift. And sometimes the last guy you'd ever expect of being the abuser is actually the one to fear most.

Good post. Whether or not it is relevant to what happened, it shows an understanding of abusive relationships that most people do not have.
I swear, I can't even tell you how many times I've heard ignorant statements of, "If she was being abused, then why didn't she just leave the first time it happened?" when abusive relationships are being discussed.

It always seemed pretty obvious to me.... he had a hell of a skewiff formative years and a temper from hell. I wasn't surprised to hear he was the hitting kind.
I mean granted, in later years he did try and turn it around, but all the same; there's no sense in fans pretending it didn't happen, eh?

I wouldn't have minded a barney with ol' Lennzie. I'm sure I'd've come out second best.

I've heard that statement more often than I can say. It's a concept people can't seem to grasp.
In a way, I understand. Logic says if a guy hits a girl, she should be shocked and pissed off enough to either hit him back or leave him. Trouble is, by the time the first blow comes, she's already been worked over by him emotionally. She's in love with him and believes he's in love with her. She'll look back and try to figure out what SHE did to set him off.
By the time she realizes HE's the problem, he's probably isolated her from friends and family. He's probably limited her ability to take care of herself financially so that she's dependent on him. There are so many issues people will never understand. The main one being that the abused woman often believes she has no choice but to stay with her abuser.

I saw a cover of News of the World (don't worry, I wasn't reading it) saying Heather abused Paul! I don't have much time for Heather, I think she was silly and short-sighted for marrying a man 26 years her junior, marrying one of the worlds most famous musicians, after the death of his first beloved wife, and expecting it to last with her getting off scot-free with no angry backlash whatsoever. Still I definitely don't think one of them abusing the other type rumours are true, I could understand Heather throwing something or wrecking something in the heat of a fight, or Paul yelling 'YOU STUPID BITCH,' 'cos every married couple hits the rocks once in a while!
Heather is such a bitch. Macca would never do anything to harm her. Though he might now.

Excellent Post! You obviously understand how messy these relationships can be. My cousin was in one for alittle while, but luckily she managed to get out. Now, one would think that when he hit her before their wedding, that would have put a stop to the wedding AT THAT MOMENT. I know it would have with me. But she continued with the wedding and married him anyway. She didn't realize how wrong the whole thing was until he did it again in front of their son, and that was her limit. Everyone has a limit, it's just that some have a limit that is so high they wind up dead before they hit it. There are lots of reasons women (and men who are abused...it does happen) stay. Fear of reprisal, fear of being alone for the rest of their lives, threats to family or friends, low self value, habit, belief that the person will change, belief that they can change the person, protection of others, embrassment, or sometimes they truly love the person. Not saying that Paul is guilty here....that's not for us to decide. But for all those who argue that she should have left immediately if this does happen to be true, look at the argument you are saying. Emotions are a very messy thing, and humans by nature have them. What is a very logical thing to do doesn't mean crap in a situation like this, because emotions of all kinds are involved. And since when have emotions ever been predictable or logical?
