Anyone going to see the Marie Antoinette Movie?

Here are some interesting facts about her:

-She is the only real Queen ever quoted in a Queen composition.

-Both herself and Freddie Mercury died before their time...and they were both Queens!

-She never really said "Let them eat cake"...this was actually quoted by the famous philosophe Voltaire decades before Marie Antoinette even came to power.

-She gave birth to 4 children, 2 died before the breakout of the French Revolution, 1 was taken away from her in prison and later died at age 8, and only 1 survived (Madame Royale) and later wrote her memoires.

-Marie Antoinette was generally a kind person who tried to help the poor people of her country by cutting royal spending. It was the press who incorrectly portrayed her as a corrupt and perverted Queen. One paper reported that she had sexual relations with her own son...no proof has ever been shown.

-She played the harpsichord and piano and loved performing plays at her own private opera house.

-Her last words at the guillotine where: "Pardon me sir, I did not mean to do it." as she stepped on her executioners foot.

-In 1789, at the palace of Versailles, she was almost murdered in her own bed by an angry mob. She narrowly escaped through a secret passage. Her bodyguards gave their lives to save her.

-Her best friend, Princess de Lamballe's head was cut off and paraded outside her jail cell. The mob wanted her to kiss it's lips!
Freddie: "Yes, we'll have a great big cock fly over the crowd!" Roadies: "Yeah! Great Idea!" Freddie: "And it will fly into a great big mouth with a moustache!"
Cool facts. I'm seeing that movie on Thanksgiving! :)

I saw her head at Madame Tussauds, heh.
I'm so pissed I could spit.

I might go and see that film, I'll have to check when it comes out.
Yeah, I'm probably gonna see that film. Thanks for the facts! I wrote a paper on her for history. Ooh! I have one:

-When Antionette was young, she played several piano/harpsichord duets with a young Motzart.
Funny you should bring up Marie Antoinette...

**Applauds** I'm glad to know that some people have their facts straight on a fascinating historical figure like Marie Antoinette!
I've seen her bedroom at Versailles, the room she was almost murdered in, and the secret passage she escaped through. I've also seen the place in the Place de la Concorde where they set up the guillotine during the Revolution. It's amazing, truly.
I'm definately going to see this movie.
