How can i correct crackling on cd tracks?

Hello everybody:

Maybe this isn't the best place to write, but how can i correct crackling on cd tracks?... because i have to correct some cd's... but i don't know how... and i need help... btw, i don't use EAC, because it's complicated for me.

Use an uncrackler.

Which one?

The tool you need depends on what you mean by crackles. You mean record crackles? Digital clicks? Either way their removal (unless you do each one by hand) will require processing that will degrade the audio and reduce quality. If you want to email me on stark@vodafone.net, maybe I can help.

If it's crackling because it's scratched, you can either buy a CD cleaner kit, which will sometimes take out hisses and pops or do what I do - run your CDs under warm water and wash with dishwashing liquid, like Dawn. Pat dry with a paper towel. I've had good luck taking out "crackling" this way.

I'll try that last one... thank you.

i use a program called cool edit to clean up pops and hisses and such from vinyl and cassettes. you could email me the file and i could have a listen and give it a shot if you'd like. soupsmoke@yahoo.com

I used to have this problem and then I realized if I stop frying sausage while burning, it goes away. Hope that helps.

If you want the best option, do it by hand.

Go into a sample editor and draw out the pops and clicks. It takes some time but it's better than an automatic pop remover

First question should be when you hear that cracks. When you play your cd or when you plays wavs ripped from this cd ?

It's when i play the cd... but maybe i should try rip the cd to wav and listen the track (it's just one track).

You can try to rip it using EAC (look after tutorial how to use it - it exists for sure :)

Even Nero has some anti-click filter which actually works very well.

Nero is much easier for me than EAC... where in Nero can i find that anti-click filter?
