I was just about to ask this. Like Roger Daltrey, both of their hair was staright but they were able to make it grow curly, I don't get it! Does anyone have a real explanation?

In the case of Brian, his hair is naturally curly but when he was young he used to straighten it, since curly hair was not "cool" back then. Then after Jimi Hendrix curly hair became "cool", so he stopped straightening it and let it grow its natural way.
