(ed: Cox is a cable internet provider) For two months I've been having connection problems. Frequent periods of timeouts and crawling speed, consistent lower speed than the 10 mbps that I'm paying for.
I've complained, gotten credits and finally they sent someone out last week. Agrees with my findings.. I'm being screwed, but can't find the problem. So he turns it over to the 'line techs'. Well nothing happens so I get another service call yesterday. This guy's solution was to add a splitter because maybe my speed is so high it's confusing the modem. LOL.
Anyway, that didn't work either. He's due to return today after talking to his supervisor. Incidently I was lied to over the weekend and told a supervisor would be coming because it's a repeat call. I was also told I got another 2 days of credit which I wasn't.
So last night I look at my bill online to see all these credits and what do I see? They've totally messed up my bill and seem to be charging me twice within the same month so it's a huge bill.
I spent at least a half hour trying to explain this to them on the phone and only ended up with another $10 credit.
They also stopped and restarted my service over the weekend at one point which resulted in all my email and webspace accounts being temporarily deleted. That was a pain to sort out. I think this is when I was billed a 2nd time too.
If this guy is able to fix the problem today I might try again to work out the billing problem but otherwise I'm outta here. I haven't had a phone line for years so dial-up isn't an option. I think you need a phone account for DSL too eh?
I think this may be my last day online. Frankly it's no fun anymore anyway.

Ahh. Well, one can't rely on those stupid online translators. Not that it matters now. I should change the name to something that fits my mood.
I thought cocks, silly me.

I have Cox, too. "Your friend in the digital age", my ass!
Well I dumped the bastards :)
Using dial-up temporarily until my new DSL is activated on Monday. It's supposed to be 6 mbps so I've got my fingers crossed :-P

I had to be offline for a few days darling. It wasn't so bad on the 2nd day when the shaking finally stopped.
