Thats Brittany Murphy!!!??? Wow.
It's not that bad... and at least I get a little dosage of Queen everytime I go to the movie theatre.
She was sorta....flat throughout the whole thing. Eh, at least she wasnt massivly flat or massivly sharp throughout it all.
It's not her fault! She's a goddamn penguin!
^That's no excuse. You're a bunny and you can type.
Wow! You would think, with all of our modern recording technology she would have sounded better.
It's a nice version.
Never fails to amaze me that anyone singing a Queen song gets followed by dozens of comments like, 'She's flat' She's sharpe, shes terrible etc. NO she wasn't, it's just not Freddie.
And as for 'surely modern technology should be able to make that better' what are you talking about? there's nothing wrong with it, hse's not flat, she sings it well it's just not the version you know that's all. get over it.
Do you seriousely think a film would get released with a soundtrack that had the singer singing flat. no, they don't. she wasn't flat.

Actually, I could care less that someone is singing a Queen song (in this instance), because I like Brittany Murphy. But my ears tell me that she's not a great singer. Shame, as I liked that dance number she sings on that was in the charts a little while ago.
Adam.
Adam.
Great version! This is the first time I hear a woman do justice to a Queen song.
The only thing I don't like is how the vocals sound too 'close-miked'.
Hmm.. Adam, you know what I mean, right? :)

I never said she was flat, and flat not only means she's out of key, but that her performance fell flat as in, it wasn't great. You can sing in key and have a flat performance.
I've heard several artist do very good covers of Queen songs, this was not one of them.

Freddie Mercury was arguably the most unique voice in the history of rock music. His voice was amazing, and apart from that, he knew how to sing a song with convicion. The odds of anyone singing a Queen song better than Freddie are beyond infinitesmal. Just enjoy the song for whatever interpretation people put on it, I don't think they're trying to do it better than him.
It's just what you are used to. Freddie singing Gimme some Loving, or Imagine or Immigrant Song really sucked

Absolutely. I hear that happening, quite blatantly a few times in there. Wonder if it's just an early cut or that it's the way they want it to sound.
