Yeah, my computer lost its sound, or some type of software device is missing, so it's been replaced with a beep from the modem.
How can I fix this? And sorry for the poor explanation of the situation

I think I may have deleted something...though my computer could also just be really crap and not have any sound hardware on it; that's what I kept telling my friends, but they insisted that I ask for advice...

i think you have to have your CPU checked. the sound card might be busted. well, that's what happend to my pc.
but if you want a faster, easier method that may or may not harm the rest of the system, just give it a good ol' kick/whack in the... butt? no. just the side.
