Listen to the song 'Siempre Hay Esperanza' from Sade's 1988 album 'Promise'.

Then compare it to 'My Baby Loves Me' from 'The Miracle'.

From "Stronger Than Pride" album you meant probably...

Album was released during The Miracle sessions, so...
Thanks for correcting me Serry.

'Promise' was released on 1985, and does not feature 'Siempre Hay Esperanza'.

Apparently they never paid her, because it was right after Stronger Than Pride that she had her Musician Fire Sale. Everybody must go!!!

Love Deluxe was pretty crappy and then all was left was a Greatest Hits. Poor Sade. Maybe she could front Queen.
It's funny you should mention that, because I've always thought there is an uncanny similarity between "Smooth Operator" and "March Of The Black Queen". MOTBQ was relased first though, so who ripped off who?
The song is so generic, I think both are probably ripped off of something else anyway. What's the word... ersatz? Pastiche? I can't remember.
Sade!!!!!!!!... no way..... I think you have to go back further in time, have a listen to Young Hearts Run Free by Candi Staton.....Freddie was clearly inspired by this song!

Ahhh, I love Simpre Hay Esperanza...it was in that Al Pacino movie "Sea of Love"...and I have the stronger than pride CD at home...I'm gonna have to listen to My baby loves me...and judge for myself!
Loving the pass, cherishing the present, and looking forward to the future

You entitled to your own thoughts, but Love Deluxe was not a crappy album...it was very classy and beautiful

Personally I think that Sade has never put out a bad album.
Love Deluxe is my least favorite but I still enjoy it.

Stronger than Pride was the 2nd CD I ever bought. I love it. But, like Jingles, it set my sights high, but when Love Deluxe came out, alas I thought it was junk. Sounded like she wrote it exclusively for an FM Jazz station.

Hey RETROLOVE? Have you heard George Howard's "No Ordinary Love"? Try to download it and compare to the original on Love Deluxe. Tell me that song severly needed a Rock guitar lead on it.

Several times now, Zebonka, I've had to get out my dictionary to look up the precise meanings of your posts. haha. I mean, your vocabulary is slightly better (well, maybe much better - I don't know) than mine.

Don't let ol' Zeb fool you! He's 14 and tries out words he needs to learn in school on this board.
I'm still working on an explanation for his rather distinguished music career..

;-)
Ha!
I always liked Sade. The perfect combo of class & sexiness :)
