foun, Brittany Murphy sings the song :)
In my opinion, the song is somewhat tolerable, but I prefer Freddie's version and I wonder why they didn't use his version in the film....
"This is not cheap meat you're looking at!" "One shrimp, one frog, one clam, one chicken!" - Freddie Mercury
I'm guessing it's less expensive for the film studio to pay for the rights to a well known song if someone "covers" it instead of using the "original" recording? Just a guess...i'm sure someone here in the 'biz can confirm the real facts. There are quite a few tunes in this movie that are covers of older "classics" from many artists.

Also it could be they wanted to make it sound more "hip" and "trendy" to today's younger audience ( which this film is designed to attract to begin with). It IS a puzzle though as to why Warner Bros. did'nt use the original Queen version. That would have been better in my mind, but i have not seen the film yet. Perhaps after seeing it, i can see better how they intregated the cover song into a filmed sequence.
I don't think it's a puzzle at all!

In fact, if it's part of the film, her character is singing to profess for somebody to love.

Why are people always so cynical and analytical about these things?! Surely the context of the song's use was actually pretty simple.

Adam.
I'm watching that instead of Marie Antoinette for Thanksgiving.
I'm so pissed I could spit.
Good good. Better than letting a certain copolla think her film is good!

Adam.
Penguins should tour with Queen.
