Further (hopefully last) opinion.

It sounds like a Goth Green Day trying to write a Jim Steinman song.

well put

the "black" as in black parade is supposed to have two origins - one the "nickname" they give their most ardent fans for their goth-like appaearance, and two a funeral procession - you take you pick

i was not only referring to the "black". don't most people march in parades? THATS why i connected March Of The Black Queen to The Black Parade.
Im actually listening to the album now and there are a few minor similarities but nothing too extreme,it sounds like MCR have given up on the screaming crap and begun singing proper tunes
I was watching an interview with gerard the other day. He said the biggest influences for the album were A Night At the Opera, The Wall (PF), and The Bends (Radiohead).

Also listening to the big guitar parts after the intro and before the first verse, there is an obvious Brian May influence in there.

As far as harmonies and layers go, there are obvious influences too, at the beginning of the outro, the drums go from really heavy to just rolls, if it wasn't for the layered sound on the kit, and on the instrumentation around, that would sound ridiculously out of place, when I see them live next year, I'm pretty sure they'll change that part.

Oh - one same word and one synonym. My mistake. Obviously this is now established as a line by line rip off of MOTBQ.....
