I was wondering if anyone knew/had an opinion about what innuendo is about. I'm not really sure but some people have told me it was about Freddie dying. Any opinions?

Their are mixed opinions of course, but I do in fact believe that the album was done knowing Freddie didn't have much longer. In fact, Brian May himself has said so. When you really think about it, the album was very, very, very emotional. The very last song on the album is The Show Must Go On for crying out loud.

1. an oblique illusion: HINT, INSINUATION: esp: a veiled or equivocal reflection on character or reputation.
2. a parenthetical explanation introduced into the text of a legal document.
Innuendo, the word, can also insinuate something sexual. I know this because my freinds and I do that a lot. :)

I think for me, it is almost like the journey of Queen, and sometimes I have wondered in quite far off directions with certain songs, such as I Can't Live With You, which could relate to Mary Austin, Headlong could be about the dangers of fame as such, as I said, thoughts that are quite far off. It just seems to me (other than We're All Gods People) the songs relate to some major part of Queen's history, and some songs represent particular elements of their characters, the most obvious for Freddie-Delilah. Any comments on this, it may be a bit far fetched, but meh...

I Can't Live With you is Brian's song, so Mary Austin connection is a little far fetched.
K narrowing it down to 1 song...what are your opinions on what 'The show must go on' is about. I think it seems to be about freddies struggle for life my mom thiks I'm nuts.
This, for some reason, is hard for me to narrow down. Tomorrow I'll try and narrow down my opinion. I'm to tired right now. My brain hurts...

No one has actually answered my question that is just a bit depressing.
Um... looking at the lyrics of the song "Innuendo"... it seems to be saying...
We'll keep trying even as things look bad, and we don't have much hope -
Asking "god" or whoever to appear to show himself to assuage fears that life is hopeless.
There's also a hopeful bit in the middle "You can be anything you want to be". And the "Don't take offense at my innuendo" could, I guess be applied to many things... song lyrics... personal things... malted milk balls.
I don't know ... If I'm wrong, I don't care. I've given up on that long ago. :P

I don't really know the biographies of their lives - but I remember reading somewhere that Brian was depressed at this time... wife leaving him... something like that - I have no idea.

I mean, I don't really see the big deal... Even if Freddie did write it or something. Just let it mean whatever you hear, it's like poetry, we could bicker about it for ages and still be pissity over what it "means".
Some songs are more literal, but some just don't have a meaning you can nail down without having written it (and if you were "influenced" when you wrote it, not even you may know !). And some may really be nonsense.
