Did Brian have formal training?

I can't find it anywhere but did Brian have any formal guitar training? I'll be in awe if he hasn't!

As far as I know he taught himself...his father, however, taught him how to play the ukelee (I hope I spelled that right) which later is what convinced Brian to play guitar in the first place.

Yeah that sounds right, i dont think he had training at all. and if so im sure it wasnt the way it was done today, it would be basic and then you tune in to what ever you want it to sound like

No he didn't have formal training I don't think. And for future reference it is ukulele :) nice try though

I've actually asked that question myself, and came to the conclusion that I don't think he did.

HOWEVER, he did formal piano training, and in the end - music is the same, no matter what instrument you play.
He knew nearly everything about notes and how to build chords etc., when he taught himself to play the guitar.
