Hi does anyone know of any decent freeware video editing software that allows you to cut out parts of a video image and superimpose it onto another one or mask parts of a layer so that only parts of it are viewable. as i'm trying to make a video where i have freddie and brian onstage together both singing love of my life. thanx in advance.

It's $60. Vegas is over $500

This is a video editor, not encoder. It's for raw video. If you want to encode avi or mpeg you will need to uncompress. And when you do that, you get gigantic files.

And I'm not sure if the uncompressed files would be deemed lossless.
