Jim Beach was considering it at some point not too long ago. I know this, because the Admin over at QOL had asked us to suggest songs for a potential Ballads compilation. Thank goodness it hasn't surfaced... yet!

But honestly. If Queen would release a great remastered set of all the studio albums at once i'd buy it.

You're serious? There were some abandoned (first 8 studio albums only) remasters in 1998, released as mini-LP jackets in Japan, Europe and the U.S.
Those featured heavy noise reduction and the artwork left a lot to be desired and thankfully they gave up on them.. however..
In 2001 the whole lot was remastered and released in Japan, though apparently they were done at Abbey Road. These same masters were used in the 2004 mini-LPs (I like to call them card sleeves actually).
The analog albums mostly sound really good in that series, while the digital albums suffer from re-EQing which results in a slight loss of midrange. As a complete collection of remasters though, they're pretty decent in my opinion.
I personally prefer the 1991 Hollywood versions in many cases. They had a more pleasing sound I think. Perhaps because they weren't so loud. I think the trend of maximizing levels kills dynamic range.
Actually the original big Freddie box uses the Hollywood masters for The Great Pretender and Barcelona, untouched except for removing the bonus track from GP.

I listened Seaside Rendezvous from the Anight at the Opera cd from the 94 remaster series (I think!!) yesterday and I noticed how bad the quality is

I digress. Galileo also said that Jim Beach is very keen on using alternate versions of songs on compilation albums. From what I gather it was his idea to use the (unique) edit of "I Want It All" on Rocks. I wouldn't mind a ballads compilation if it featured the German version of "White Queen" or the extended version of "One Year of Love".

His sole interest (job) is generating money from the Cash Cow that is the existing Queen catalogue. I would imagine that as soon as the USA Hollywood contract is up for re-negotiation (whenever that may be), we will see yet another rash of album re-masters. We will also see the HD DVD versions of the Greatest Video Hits etc etc.
