Not to sure if this is in the right forum, I went into my local Woolworths (UK) today (29-11-06) and was pleasently suprised to see the entire Queen studio back catalogue in the sale section at £4.97 each, it's not very often you see these CD's at this price, so if there's an album you need for your collection or even haven't heard yet!, then it could be a good time to pick up a few early Christmas presents.

Most releases are 10+ years old.
But they are all classics.. And when I was about 10 years old, I had to save up money for a long time to buy them, and now they are almost for free.. I think much of the feeling goes away when you buy 5 CD's at once.
Anyway.. they are Queen-albums, they should be worth more!
...usually it's crappy-CD's which are so cheap...

When they toured last year the cd's were a bit more expensive. The demand was higher.
Anyway.. they are Queen-albums, they should be worth more!

With the economy as it is, youngsters have more dificulties to buy the records.
I payed more for each Queen album, and i live in Portugal, but i think music is for everyone, and the CD prices nowadays are exepnsive as hell! To me that´s almost the equivalent to steal. Prices today, show no consideration for the fans in general. That´s why people download for "free" on the internet. People can´t afford that.
Just because Queen music is better (from our point of view), it doesn´t mean it should be expensive.

were they the cardboard sleeved japan remasters UK issue, or the previous plastic cases issues.

You can buy the whole Queen catalogue on two pirate CDs in mp3s for 8 euros in Russia.
Sheash, CDs here for Queen are 18.99 + live albums go for 30 bucks and its a PAIN in my ass. Money doesnt grow on trees.
I had to pay like 24.99 for the standard old Hollywood Records version of Live Killers last year, when the same store was selling the remastered Wembley set for $14.99. It makes no sense sometimes, these prices :-P
This is the thing to do though, if money is an issue for you.. watch and wait for the best deals. And check around online to find the best price so you know whether you're getting the best deal.
And check out used shops in your area too. Often you can find spotless Queen discs for very reasonable prices.
