i didnt particularily like it, it over analized (particularily in freddie) everything about their lives. Sometimes a music video, is JUST a music video. Very well written though.

Well... I tried to read the whole thing, but it seemed to go off on tangents unrelated to the topic it was supposed to be covering, like "death can be seen as a good career move" (which isn't really news).
And I saw spelling errors and what the fuck, "Aids" ? - I mean, it's an acronym ! I don't know how, but after seeing "Aids", "aids", "Aid's", "aid's", "AID's", and "A.I.D.'s" I developed a pet peeve.

Acronyms often become words. Think of the word 'laser'. Would you like me to spell it L.A.S.E.R. from now on? Because it's still an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.
Or S.C.U.B.A.-gear? Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus.
A language grows, and if an acronym becomes a commonly used term, it will eventually become a word. As did aids. Learn to live with it.

But why insert an apostrophe ? That's just a misunderstanding of what's being represented.
I have seen "We All Have AIDS". Which could become confusing if read "We All Have Aids" because "aids" is the pre-established plural of "aid" and it also works in the context.
A similar term would be "SIDS", which my teacher would not be impressed if I wrote "Sids". This appeared to be a formal paper. I have not seen anyone use "Aids" in a campaign or anything of the sort.
Unlike "laser" and "scuba" which did not exist before their acronyms were assimilated into the language (much like "Kleenex" and "Xerox" - while not acronyms), it seems a common courtesy to type "AIDS" when talking about "acquired immunodeficiency syndrome" to differentiate it from "aids".

Found this essay long-winded and, frankly, boring. Tangents almost unrelated or completely so were all over the place. A couple of notes:
1. "Micheal Jackson" is, in fact, spelled Michael Jackson.
2. "Aids" is, as others have previously pointed out, spelled AIDS.

Steve thanks for posting this essay. It is much more interesting than the other essay this guy wrote. I think the essayist makes some valid points about the mysterious sexual image both projected during their careers.
