warmer weather normally means that the u.k summer has arrived, but that only lasts for about a week..lol
80 degrees is a heatwave here in blighty..
it also means that the party and festival season has come.im kinda hoping that i can do Glastonbury this year, but michael eavis is not making it easy with foto tickets,so i might go to the one just outside Exeter called Beautiful Daze which is more laid back than glasto and nearer for me.

the person below wants to go to an U.K festival this year
[QUOTENAME]Miami Vice wrote: [/QUOTENAME]We have had only a handful of cold weather days this winter. Even by our standards it has been a mild winter so far. And i was thinking of maybe going to London this year. The person below me has been to London many times.
i used to live just outside London and go clubbing and to gigs every week for 6 years there with my old mates, but by my mid 20's the lifestyle started to take its toll on me and i decided to head for the countryside and chill out more.London is not for the fainthearted i warn you now.enjoy it by all means but keep your head on.
from a man who didnt.

the person below will heed my advice
[QUOTENAME]Miami Vice wrote: [/QUOTENAME]Perhaps i will take the advice. The person below me will tell me more about these music festivals. When are they, and whose playing?
The person below me is a hermaphrodite.

glastonbury is at the end of June for 5days.the acts aren't announced until the tickets are sold, but to be honest people dont go for the music, more for the event itself.
bands rumoured to be headlining are madonna, springsteen and the who.
capacity this year 150,000

Beautiful daze is in mid to late august for 3days and is organised by the Levellers and is more relaxed than glasto and is more indie music orientated.ie,echo and the bunneymen played last year as did the proclaimers.Dreadzone are one of my fave bands and they play there every year.
capacity 12.000 approx

there are others,ie V fest which is more commercial music than the above

dreadzone are a DUB-REGGAE band, the bass player is Don Letts who used to be in BIG AUDIO DYNAMITE.you can find out more about them and listen to some of their songs at Dreadzone.com their most well known song is called Little Britain.they do most of the festivals during the summer.
if you want to do glasto check out glastonburyfestival.com for more info, you have to pre-order your ticket in feb for this years event.

the person below found this useful
[QUOTENAME]Miami Vice wrote: [/QUOTENAME]Jox, in southern Florida we have all kinds of festivals which feature live music. The Goombay fesitival which is big among the black people from the Carribean islands that live in our area, they have calypso, junkanu and reggae at that one. That is one example. Unfortunately we do not have a local yearly rock festival per se.
if youre into that type of thing you want to time your London visit to coincide with the notting hill carnival the last weekend of august.

I think it's kind of funny how easily we can get sidetracked onto a totally irrelevant topic.
