I had seen that Queen did a cover of this song during their early days which isn't hard to believe since they did a cover of communication breakdown. However unlike cb, the immigrant song doesn't seem to be circulating as much. So if anyone has it and would post it that would be great.

Early days?

Hahahahaha

Berlin 1986. It's on the tracker here, I think.

They did play it a lot in the early days, during soundchecks. But never live (Unless it has never been reported)

You wouldn't have said, if you see how poorly they performed it at Berlin. It's like they'd HEARD the song ONCE, and decided to play it impromptu.

I suppose Robert Plant was just returning the favour in '92 then?

Haha.

Taking into account his qualities, he ought to be ashamed of himself...but considering Berlin '86, they had it coming ;-P

Hehe.

One could blame his age; but he did some decent singing in the MTV thing a couple of years later. Hmmm!

Robert did ok on 'Crazy' but was absolutely horrendous on 'Innuendo'...how could the guys actually let him get out there and sing it?? If he sang it that bad during the show, imagine rehearsals...I like Robert Plant, he's an excellent singer, but when somebody cannot connect with a song, you just fucking well don't have him get out there and embarrass not only himself but the band like that, you know??

I liked his version of Crazy Little Thing Called Love.

As for Innuendo... meh, I don't know WHAT was going on there. I genuinely think Robert Plant can sing that song. Towards the end of it, his voice showed signs of having warmed up a bit, some of his wooo-ing got pretty high... but MEH! I don't get it.
It should've been the best song on the day and it wound up being so dodgy they didn't include it.
