who is better to play Freddie?

I would like to see these people audition before making any choices.

How good an actor is each ?
How does each portray Freddie ?
How do they handle Freddie on-stage as opposed to off ?
How do their voices sound ?
Can they create an effective accent ?
Can they create a sustainable "Freddie character" that can carry through the length of the movie and create a successful "illusion" ?

Et cetera.

As for Johnny Depp's appearance, I really believe he could master both the 70s Freddie and the 80s Freddie...and maybe even Freddie in 1991...

I do believe that Depp would have to work his ass off with capturing Freddie's accent and his basic gestures that we all remember him for...but I'm sure he'd do just fine. However, I question Johnny Depp's ability in singing...can he sing at all? Does anybody know if he's any good?

I think Johnny Depp as Freddie is an ace idea!They're both stunning and exceptionally good at what they do/did, so Johnny Depp all the way!!!

I see that Johnny has 3 other films about to start filming through 2008 so I'm not so certain the decision is final as others seem to think. Though he somehow manages to be in *everything* so who knows.

BTW, that's the gayest I've ever seen Nikki looking :-P

Johnny depp gonna have to practice freddie moves from stage unless they put real freddie clips when doing stage ones then back to depp Gary from star in your eyes winner can do freddie moves but look alike and height dont match it be a shame cos he could do the moves as well

Johnny Depp is the right choice.

It surely has to be Johnny Depp, he would be so good at it and I'm sure he'd love to do it. Is John Deacon really involved in this project? Seems unlikely to me but that would be good.
