Hello everybody,

I just purchased Queen Under Review 1980-1991 today. I have to say, I enjoyed it. I already had Queen Under Review 1973-1980 and that was a fantastic documentary. The only complaint I have about the second volume is that they didn't mention Freddie's work with Cabelle...other wise I thought the documentary was very nice.

I was personally shocked when I heard that one guy (I forget his name) said that in 1983 he asked Freddie what he thought about AIDS, and all Freddie had to say was "fuck it" or something like that. That was sad, if only he'd have been more careful, and not so ignorant. I thought it was very heart breaking when the guy said he'd felt like he lost a friend right then and their.

How do you guys feel about the DVD?

Take care,
Steve
I'm kinda tired so I can't give an in-depth review, but I enjoyed these too. I thought the first volume was slightly better.

They're available in the U.S. and U.K. - even the UK versions are NTSC for some reason. Probably hard to find in stores, but can be ordered easy enough.

They are basically interviews with music critics who trace Queen music chronologically, and with clips from videos and concerts. The 2nd volume uses clips from Budapest '86 a lot as I recall. You probably won't learn anything new, as a fan, but if you enjoy hearing people talk about Queen as I do, they are enjoyable and well-made.

I have a bunch of this type of unathorized documentary DVDs listed on my site: http://queenguy.50webs.com/dvd.htm#docs though my info isn't very consistent, I'd be happy to answer questions :-P

Yes I really enjoyed both volumes of Queen under review. I had to laugh at one of the pundits exploration of WIAWI though- it was rather convulted. Fred would have found it very amusing. Gambacinni is a legend and that bald headed chap is most entertaining. I am glad they gave Innuendo the critical praise it deserved.

I've seen it in HMV near my College, pretty cheap. I still need to get it. I already have the Queen Under Review 1973-1980 DVD. That one is good.
