Queen were a great live band because they didn't need a scheme or props to impress the audience. All they needed was their talent and everyone loved them for that. Madonna's a whore anyway so don't listen to your friend because he's a stupid ass moron.
my opinion is just like yours' all. i realize all that. further more i know that guy doesn't know a shit about music and still he acts so to be so sure about what he says. well i must calm down ;)
LeroyBrown11 yours opinion is ABSOLUTELY TRUE!!!!!
It would deserve, to make a big banner from it, put somewhere in a place to see everyone!!!
Queen concerts are legends. Freddie used to make those singing games with the audience, and he used to have a great sence of humor. I never went to a Queen show, but only by watching the videos I can feel that emotional fire. Freddie was much charismatic than Madonna. I'm not saying that she's bad, she's good, but her shows will never reach Queen's shows' toes.
What would have been the reaction (in the 80's) if Freddie would have entered the stage being nailed to a cross singing 'Let Me Entertain You" or who knows what else???

Queen was a rock-band that played LIVE. You can't compare that to Madonna or any other act of that kind. It are two totally different worlds. Madonna isn't about the music, it's purely entertainment. If people enjoy it, very good! It's not about the songs and the playing but just about the show, like I said.

Personally I'm entertained by the excitement a band playing live can create. I listen to queen(and some other bands too)bootlegs a lot and it's fantastic. It's all about personal taste and musical feeling a bit too, I guess. Most people only care for what sounds catchy and sometimes even not here whether it is performed well or not!!
I can't understand Queenfans make such a fuss about these things. enjot the things you like. The opinions of others aren't important. And I can assure you 1 thing:Queen were(and now with paul rodgers too)an amazing live band:-)

re: madonna

why would anyone pay shit loads of money to see a mime performance?

OK...it's stating the obvious to say that most of us here love Queen. However, aren't there other better things to worry about than their reputation? There is more to life than Queen (although they do provide the best soundtrack to life :-)

Yes, why are we worrying about perception? I just saw on Brian May's website that they've been named UK's best band by yet another worthless list. Big Deal.

We all know that if truth be told, The Beatles obviously are king. That's not to take anything away from Queen. They were also one of the best, and thankfully are still going, in some form.

It was fun to see Ringo Starr's all star band, but I know he's not at his peak. I still got to hear Yellow Submarine sung by the original as well as Colin Hay, John Waite, Sheila E and Paul Carrack. On my way in, I didn't see anyone picketing the show, demanding the Ringo hang it up, yet half the songs were John & Paul's.

Who are we to say what and how the Queen name is used, just be glad it's still available, in some form. And be glad that Brian and Roger got someone as talented as Paul, and not just a Steve Perry clone or something...

they're not bigger than Madonna. some are as big, but none bigger.
hey i'm a great fan of both madonna and queen. and there is no comparisin to them. first off madonna is alot older now compaired to freddie when they performed there last concert. my god she is almost 50. her performace is more thearacle than most rock band unless you are talking about alice cooper or meat loaf. queen never had the changing of the stage as she has and her concerts are like a broadway show there are acts in them and many clothing changes. she is a single person and they are a group. and to say she mimes is a fucken joke. NO SHE DOESNT MIME!! who ever has said that have you ever watched a whole concert of hers before. she works her ass off. i'm not saying freddie didnt too but i'm just saying that she doesnt mime cus she has canceled performances because she had no voice. if you dont believe me watch truth or dare.
ok now i have said my peace. i love them both!! freddie rules and madonna does too!!

that's true. i have seen her on each of her past 3 tours and in fact she never mimed. (except of "vogue" on her "re-invention tour", that one was mimed - due to the heavy choreography).
i stood close enough to appraise...i guess you have to take it as a fact, folks - even if you don't like her.

Carnie Wilson... way bigger.

Madonna has the luxury of reaching all audiences, so calling her a gay type singer is silly. Go and actually listen to an album like True Blue or her 1st.
Get a life my friend, get a life.

If you can write "i am so nervous about the queen reputation...", frankly, your life sucks.

If I were you, I would worry more about my education and homework assignments, than whether Queen were a semi-decent live band or not.

Stacking shelves at TESCO may seem appealing now, but wait until you are a little older. Perhaps then you may have some real worries to be nervous about.
