I seriously don't know what's worse, the American over exposure of hip-hop artists like 50 Cent, or the European over exposure of pop stars like Robbie.[/QUOTE]

I think Robbie Williams is great. He's shown the world that you don't need to be able to sing, or say anything compelling at all, to fill up a place like Knebworth.
It's a shame you people don't see his brilliance. Your loss really. Just don't make this a RW-bash topic again please.
We love you Mandy!

Thanks for the offer Burak, but here in the States we saw enough of Robbie and we found nothing brilliant about his posh image, his silly mainstream pop tunes, and the cheesy ballads.
I think it's ridiculous to think that fabricated pop acts like Take That, Spice Girls, and Robbie Williams are considered "legends" in the UK. Which is rather sad to think that at times they get honored even more than bands like Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd, as if the UK didn't have much to show other pop acts. Chances are that Atomic Kitten will get more lifetime achievement honors than Genesis.

Now, don't say that we hold a pop bias. George Michael proved to be a brilliant pop artist once he stepped out of the teeny bubblugum image he had with Wham! Mick Hucknall and Simply Red are also rather pop oritented and they're just great at what they do.
Sincerely, when I hear Robbie Williams, I just hear another overhyped pop star selling an image rather than selling music.

:O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol....
Aw...come on...there are much MUCH worse artists out there than Robbie. Don't let the fact that he is a bit of a prat distract from the fact that back in the day he released some damn good records which no-one else would dare cover because the Robster put his own unique spin on it, and now he can fill Knebworth.
Meh, Robbie is an entertainer. I enjoy every time I see one of his concerts on DVD or TV (haven't seen the one in Leeds complete yet) and I love all his CD's also. I just disagree with people who doesn't respect my will to like him. Even my roomie respects that!!!! She bought me the Live @ Knebworth CD as a Christmas gift and she hates him :P.

Just listen to Life Thru A Lens, I've Been Expecting You, SIng When You're Winning and you'll see how great he is. People tend to judge him by his singles (like many do with Queen) and we all know that's wrong.
We love you Mandy!
