Somebody knows if someday Queen will publish the concert of the Tribute of Freddie COMPLETE?
I think that with BlueRay and DVD-HD the quality of this concert can be very good.

I doubt it would look much better on Blueray or HDDVD since it was never recored in High Def in the first place.

Sadly, I have to agree with my Russian friend here. It's highly unlikely that the concert will ever be released in its entirety. Your best bet would be to download the TV version (as recorded from BBC) from the HUB.

Unfortunately, good technology can't fix Robert Plant's butchering of Innuendo. The edited version might be a better historical document than showing the whole thing, warts and all.

It wont be complete because like other naff shows or should i say performances where bands come out to play live for the 1st time in years ala Def Leppard they handnt played live since 1988 (Steve Clark dying didnt help) hence when the double vhs version was released their only track was Now I'm Here (with Brian)once they were warmed up omitting Animal & Let's Get Rocked
And that was a shame...Def Leppard did so good that day!!

Def Leppard's performance of "Now I'm Here" was released (at least the audio) as a B-side of one of their singles.

I enjoyed the whole show, but from a proefessional point of view, Robert Plant forgetting the lyrics was extremely poor. I can understand how singers can forget words during a 'full set', Freddie did it a few times, but Mr Plant only had two songs to learn.
Is it just coincidence that his efforts on Live Aid were ommited from the offical DVD?....he went on to blame Phil Collins for thier poor performance that day!

The quality of Innuendo by Robert Plant in cd of Thankyou Freddie it's very good but the studio version is 1000 times better.

Really I think that it's so sad that this Concert, one of the most important rock concert of the history (only lack Freddie), it is not available complete in digital format.

Plant did a brilliant take on Innuendo - combining it with the lyrics from Kashmir was absolute genius!
His version of CLTCL however was awful. Why he needed to sing it as "Kwazy little thing...." is beyond me.
The two bands I though brought life to the first part were Metallica and Extreme. Def Leppard sounded horrible with their comedy, one-armed, electronically procesed drummer. GnR were OK-ish, but Axl Rose tok himself FAR too seriously.
Absolute highlight of the day was when Tony Iomi walked on and he and Brian riffed. THEN Brian played a few bars of Pinball Wizard to introduce Roger Daltrey - superb!

Sorry, but I think that the remark about Def Leppard's drummer is completely uncalled for. It takes a very brave man to play drums with one arm and even more so to do it professionally. Even with one arm he's still one of the best drummers out there and you have to give him that.
As far as Robert Plant goes, I don't think that he forgot the lyrics - he simply came in the song at the wrong time and got a bit confused in the beginning, but he more than made up for it later in his set. His performance was probably the most emotional of the night and it still moves me deeply.

And about "Innuendo" being performed on Q+PR concerts, I do seem to remember that in the early stages of planning the tour, Paul had mentioned that he would love to do the song live. Hopefully they're saving it for the next tour. I think that the song would suit Paul and I personally can't wait to hear it.

Are you sure about plant balming Phil Collins for Live Aid? What I read and saw in interviews, Plant said something like, "Why couldn't we have gotten it (reunion) right in front of 50 million people? Someone handed Pagey his guitar straight out of the case out of tune and my voice was shot after three days on the trot. By the time we finished rehearsals earlier in the afternoon, my voice was long gone."
