Help, i need this for my project. I have been searching for a long time and i cant find anything. What i want to know is that is there a history, story or influence that made queen write this song? I noticed that it talks about growing up and the difficulties you go through, but what made them write this song? Is there anything to do with the time period to when it was written? My teacher told me that many queen songs start with a boy and then end with an old man? I am posting here because i think that this is my last resort. Please help!!!

Thats a really helpful link, but i didn't get what i wanted. What i need to know is that are there any events that are depicted in the lyrics. I am talking about the lyrics, not the way it was played. And i didn't mention this before but if i cant find anything about we will rock you, i can also do my project on we are the champions. But i have to find out what the lyrics relate to and what events do they talk about.

same thing, you gave me a site with good info, but i dont know what events made queen write this song. Events THAT ARE IN THE LYRICS. Like who or what do they talk about?

Brian has said more than once that it was the Stafford concert at Bingley Hall (which is outside Birmingham) that inspired him to write WWRY... if you want to get a bit technical.

I doubt that Brian May was talking about anything in particular. He was probably just being ghetto at the moment.
"Fuck today, it's tomorrow." - Freddie Mercury
He was talking about mankind through the ages - and though armed forces frequently use the song to work themselves up, it's actually a statement *against* violence.

Ask Brian. You'll get a similar answer - I'm afraid I can't give you an exact quote because I simply can't be arsed digging through that much Soap Box...

... Sorry :P
a link to this "soap box" would be helpful. i guess i can search through it by date.

Anyone else with proof or link to why the song we will rock you was written. Not because they wanted the audience to participate but any thing they talk about in the lyrics of the song.

Plz. I really need this for my work.

I remember reading an interview with Dave Mustaine (Megadeath/Metallica), in which he was saying how much he loved Queen and how WWRY was written as a dig at KISS ?
I love you for your mind baby give me your body.
