Brian has a line of products and this is another addition to them, albeit, the most important one! So, a signature of his is cool with me.

Why is it that stupid wanting a copy similar to the original?
I don't really see the fuss.... I certainly didn't get the Burns so I could have an authentic replica of someone else's guitar. I got it because I found it very playable and enjoyed dicking around with pickup combinations. It could've had 'Squeeky the Fart Box' written on the headstock and I'd still have bought it.
The idea of getting rid of Brian's signature is pretty pointless. Most people who know guitars will recognise that it's a Red Special (this sounds stupid, but seriously... it happens).
If you're trying to distance your onstage persona from that of Brian, then maybe you ought to just take the electrics out of the instrument and put them into a Danelectro. Or something. Ha-ha.
