Well, usually I'd freak out about it "supposedly" being their last tour (which I HIGHLY doubt...), but after the whole stupid rumor about Ace Frehley commiting suicide, I don't believe ANY rumors anymore...

But anyway, back onto the topic. Yes, it does seem Rush gets better with every tour (and album). Check out their live albums. All The World's A Stage was good back in the 70's, and then Exit...Stage Left was better. A Show Of Hands was good, Rio, the 30th Anniversary Tour...come on! This next tour will kick it up another notch!
But I'm really not thinking it's over yet. I mean, Paul McCartney's in his mid-60's and he's still rockin like he did during his Wings days. If he can have longevity, Rush can too. :)

I heard a short sound clip on their webside, reminds me a bit of One Little Vitory (the hard breaks..) and then Alex plays a piece that sounded like Hemispheres. Unfortunatly the clip stops then.. Have some of you heard a bit more from that album?
I saw Rush in Frankfurt 2004, it's a pitty that they dropped a few songs for "R30". (I have an complete and excellent audience recording , mail me if someone wants to trade it for a Queen Show : oliver_mueller@manmadeplanet.de)
Hey Bob: Keith Moon is the shit! I play drums too, and the way he plays on Live at Leeds and other early live shows is fantastic! He never played a drum solo, but he threats his instrument like a solo piece! (Alltough you're right, Bonzo is (technicaly) a way better drummer...)
But Neal Peart...he is God! I'm still tryin' to get "Subdivions" on the drums together...when Rush make their 40th anniversary Tour, I'll will get it ;-)

Pretty sure Moonie had the odd solo in his prime? I don't think it was ever a regular thing though like 'Moby Dick'.
I know there's a very popular clip of him doing a solo (the one with the goldfish in his drums) but that's apparently a very hideous edit of a much longer and slightly more interesting solo. Meh.

Well, if "Far Cry" is any example of how the new album will be, it'll be kickass! Definitely another milestone in the Rush legacy.

What do you think of "Far Cry"? I think it's cool, but it also could have been on "Vapor Trails"! I wish they would do another concept album ; like a sequel to "2112"....

I was thinking about that too. Unfortunately, there aren't many good ideas for 'concept albums' these days. Back in the 60's and 70's, they were all over the place. Sgt. Pepper's, 2112, The Wall, etc...it's tough to make a good one.
Take The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance. That's probably the best example of modern concept albums. A twisted story with a dark premise mixed with eccentric lyrics and edgy technique from the band (especially from frontman Gerard Way).
Now I'm not comparing MCR to Rush...that's no contest. Rush is a kickass band and this next album (even if it ends up being their last, god forbid) will be one of the best for 2007.
