I'm really sick of telemarketing though. I'm on the do not call list and I still get this stuff.. are pre-recorded messages in calls exempt from that or something? That's the latest thing.. there's nobody to bitch at when they call.. just a fu__ing message.
I guess our only comfort is knowing that these a__holes will slowly rot in hell for bothering people.

Seriously, what is the big deal about telemarketing? Why do people actually care so much about it? It's an occasional, or rare, phone call...that you can immediately hang up on if you wish. Is it really that much of a nuisance to walk to your telephone every once in a while?

Especially when you've just settled onto the sofa with your kid after a long day of work and you're ready to have a story read to you but you have to tell you child to wait so you can get up and answer a nonsense call. Or when you have several pots going on the stove or hands full of freshly diced onions and you have to do a quick wash and dry and rush to answer the phone. OR you've just put the baby down for a nap, OR you've just put on your coat, your gloves, your boots and hoisted a shovel in one hand and a bucket of rock salt in the other - only to have to drop it all and trudge up the stairs to answer the freaking phone.
You never know when a phone call is an important one, so you stop what you're doing and you answer it. If you've placed your name and number on the do-not-call registry and they call you anyway, they are breaking the law and should - WILL - pay.
