Has anyone seen the tribute band Magic - A Kind Of Queen? I want to know if they're any good.
Every day do something that will inch you closer to a better tomorrow
a bit keyboard-centric for my tastes, and the singer had a weak voice
so it wasn't really worth the money?

saw them in penzance a couple of years back and i agree with PG.
the guitarist[who looked like Pippin from lord of the rings] and singer seemed to be having a personal battle on who could be the loudest and the drummer had black curly hair,in the end our little group got bored with them and headed to the bar and drank shitloads of tequila and came back and heckled them.
the Bohemians were miles better.

the entire experiance left a mental scar on my friend Claire who goes into a form of Tourettes every time they are mentioned in her company
isnt innuendo an italian suppository? im gonna ride the wild wind! its_a_hard_life wrote:you nutcase you rule! joxer replies: but in a nice way :-]
I don't think they were that great, and I saw them instead of Dillan Moran
Evil will always triumph 'cause good is dumb.

I saw them a while back. They weren't that memorable. They made a point of saying at the start that they were musicians, not impersonators. So, no curly wigs, striped t-shirts, moustaches or yellow military jackets....however that made them look like a groups of old guys doing karaoke at a wedding. Halfway through they plugged their *other* tribute band "A kind of ELO" and played the whole of "Mr Blue Sky" which was a bit cheeky considering we were at a Queen themed event.
They did do a lot of songs and even tried Barcelona as I remember....a bold move but not too succesful.

Magic are the poorest of the tribute bands that I have seen. They are really kinda cheesy. They always seem to pull in a crowd though.
