i saw this guy on monday night in glasgow, went there with an open mind and really enjoyed his show. Somebody mentioned that freddie mercury he ain't and that is very true but he is a good young showman learning his trade and his vocal range is so close to freddie it's uncanny. Keep an eye on this guy he may be huge, then again he may burn up and never be seen again.

I think exactly the same way!
"But touch my tears with your lips Touch my world with your fingertips And we can have forever And we can love forever..."

seriously? brian thinx that? but it couldn't be. Mika's too old. he'd have to be 14 or 15 to be like the reincarnation of freddie.

of course, unless u were kidding, then nevermind all that.
Well, we all know that the project with PR have it's days counted, 'cause after the album and the 2008 tour the will go separeted ways. PR always said he doesn't like to be in a band or "situation" for long time, and Bri and Rog knows that more than an album and 3 tours will be too much for those who think PR is replacing Freddie.well, Mika fit exactly on the kind of music (style) PR is unabble to sing! The vaudeville/fanfarre Freddie style, and the dance rythms that doesn't suit to PR. I can see a collaboration(album?Tour?) between Queen and MIka in a few years.
*ding dong*
I kinda think that Mika is going to be the next "one-hit wonder". Have you noticed he only has two singles out?!? Not even a full album. I'm not trying to bash him or anything, I'm just saying I have a feeling Mika isn't going to be popular much longer.
Mika is just another 1 hit wonder like the darkness, see how no one talks about the darkness anymore? same thing will happen with this guy coz he dosent have staying poooooooower haha

Hehe... yeah.

What I meant is... okay. The Darkness are pretty much one (or two) hit wonders. However.... that takes doing. Takes a bit of gumption to make it ANYWHERE, even if it is only for two or three years.

A one hit wonder is still more than a no hit wonder, which is what I am!

you know, the songs that the darkness got famous with was basically queen ripoffs, they had a melody from somebody to love i think and also one vision

One Vision was a lot like Start Me Up though!

The "Somebody to Love" ripoff you mention... I actually think the melody wasn't quite that much of a ripoff, but the guitar line does start with an upward-string-bend that is a bit like the Somebody to Love solo.

Honestly... outside of the guitar overdubs, their sound is more like a bright and cheerful AC/DC. If we're to talk about the skin-tight outfits.... meh. It's just a bit of a laugh, right?
yeah they are a funny band and his vocals... that falsetto got pretty annoying fast
