Queen I is in fact influenced by Led Zeppelin, but I think such early unique Queen compositions like 'My Fairy King' cannot be compared to any other band or musician. In terms of conceptual albums I'd say Led Zeppelin II is slightly better than Queen's ANATO. But as a band, I like Queen more, because they have more variety in their music.

There wouldn't be any Queen without LZ. I'd say Led Zeppelin II is better than Queen II but A Night At The Opera? They're too different IMO to compare, LZ was never art/progressive rock so they never struggled for excellence.
Physical Graffitti is the only Led Zeppelin album that is arguably as good as Queen II.

I agree with you; I just meant that Led Zeppelin II was better than ANATO as a whole, i.e. in it's 'continuity' - this is only my opinion;) The reason is as I listened to Led Zeppelin II for the first time approx 3 or 4 years ago - being already a Queen fan and owning all their albums - I was amazed by it and liked all the songs on it while on ANATO, I'm not in particular fond of 'I'm In Love With My Car' and 'Sweet Lady' (again; my personal taste:)) I feel the same for 'Dark Side Of The Moon' by Pink Floyd; personally, I like this album better than ANATO because of its structure/continuity, but in terms of songs I think no song of DSOTM can reach the excellence of 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.

Yeah, DSOTM is a good example of album-oriented rock. Non of the tracks were MAJOR hit singles but the album is considered a classic and as far as I know, it's the best-selling classic rock album of the Nielsen Soundscan era with over 8 million copies shipped since 1991. I wouldn't say I like all of it though, hearing some tracks makes me drowsy but I love "Brain Damage" and the song after it...forgot the name. "Eclipse" or something like that? My favourite Pink Floyd album is Wish You Were Here though, all the tracks are good except maybe "Have A Cigar".
